Welcome to the Office of Financial Aid at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. We are here to help talented students and their families manage the cost of quality music education through a wide variety of sources. Many of our students receive some portion of their assistance directly from our Conservatory scholarships. Conservatory financial aid awards generally include gift assistance (scholarship or grants) and self-help assistance (loans and work opportunities). The recipient may accept all or any part of the aid offered. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at email@example.com or call us at (415) 503-6235 or (415) 503-6214.
In addition, a number of students receive financial assistance from outside sources such as state scholarships, local musical clubs, etc. Many students help finance their educational costs through loans, installment payment programs and part-time employment.
Students who are United States citizens or permanent residents applying for merit-based scholarships or financial aid from the Conservatory must complete the SFCM Scholarship/Financial Aid Application. Those applying for any need-based financial aid must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This can be found at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Priority consideration will be given to those applicants who file these forms by February 15. Our federal school code for the FAFSA is 001278.
International students applying for Conservatory scholarship assistance, merit included, must complete the SFCM Scholarship/Financial Aid Application and International forms found here.
All first-time financial aid applicants, both domestic and international, who are applying for any need- based scholarship funding are required to complete the CSS/FinancialAidPROFILE. The school code for this is: 4744.
Students planning to attend the Conservatory are encouraged to apply for local, state and national scholarships for which they may be eligible. High school counselors have information on these awards. If you are a California state resident, please visit www.csac.ca.gov to apply for the California State Grant. The deadline to apply for this grant is March 2nd. Please keep in mind that both your FAFSA and California State Grant Application must be completed before this deadline.
